13691 Corporal John Prentice,

11th Battalion, Royal Scots.

John was killed in action on 21 December 1917 in the 4th Battalion, Royal Scots in Palestine and is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel. He was born in Stonehouse Lanarkshire the son of Robert and Elizabeth Prentice of 4, Millar Street ane enlisted at Glencourse, Midlothian, Scotland.

Soldiers Died in Great War gives his number incorrectly as 13091.

John is on the right and was at Huntroyde in May 1917. Standing left is GS/12338 Private George Clarke of the Royal Fusiliers.
