Lowe was a married man whose parents are shown as Mr. William and Mrs. Mary Lowe.

Served at Gallipoli for 9 months prior to going to France. Received a bullet wound to the foot during the early stages of the Battle of the Somme.

Lowe was a patient at Huntroyde Auxiliary Military Hospital from 13 July 1916 until 11 August 1916.
