PS/4649 Private Stanley Clough,

20th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers.

Born on the 11 September 1893 at Brooklands, Cheshire.

Trade, Accountant. Religion, Church of England.

Clough was a single man who named his next of kin as Mr. Harry and Mrs. Alice Clough.

Enlisted on the 8 September 1914.

Medal Index Card shows entitled to the 1914/15 Star, British War and Victory Medals. Embarked to France on the 14 November 1915. He was later numbered GS/73139.

Clough was wounded by shrapnel in his side in the early stages of the Battle of the Somme, and was a patient at Huntroyde Auxiliary Military Hospital from 13 July 1916 until 28 July 1916.
