Regiment. Born 24 March 1884, the son of Charles Edward and Susan Amos. Enlisted into the Grenadier Guards 1 November 1905, discharged to the reserve 1 November 1912. Called to re-join the colours on 5 August 1914. To France 11 November 1914. Took part in the battle of Neuve Chapelle starting 10 March 1915. Wounded in the right foot by a gunshot on the third day of the battle and evacuated to the 1st Stationary Hospital, Rouen, France, proceeded to Southampton, England on the 17 March and was sent to 2nd General Hospital, Manchester arriving on the 19 March, was transferred to Huntroyde Auxiliary Hospital on the 22 March 1915.
