Born on the 9 January 1888 at Highworth, Wiltshire. Enlisted Devizes, Wiltshire 8 September 1905. Resident Wantage, Berkshire. Served in India and South Africa. To France with BEF on 14 August 1914.

Arrived at Huntroyde on December 17th, 1914 and left on January 6th, 1915. Standing is 1224 Private Stewart Blair, 1/5th Battalion, Royal Highlanders (Black Watch).

Killed in action on 25th September 1915. Commemorated on the Menin Gate, Ypres
