36 Battery, Royal Field Artillery. Later Gunner 14700 Royal Garrison Artillery. Abbott was at Huntroyde from January 26th 1915 to February 6th 1915. Seated is Albert Abbott and standing is Malcolm Morrison of the Cameron Highlanders Born at Wigan, Lancashire on the 24 February 1883, the son of Mr. William and Mrs. Jane Abbott. He enlisted at Preston, Lancashire on the 3 March 1905. A married man with two children working as a coal miner and living at Ryhill, Wakefield, Yorkshire, Abbott was re-called from the reserve during August 1914 and arrived in France with the BEF on the 16 August 1914. He was invalided to the UK on the 19 January 1915 with a fractured ankle. Abbott is on list RGA/625 for the Silver War Badge.
