the London Gazette of 3 September 1919. Ryder was a native of Barrowford, Lancashire.
The citation for the D.C.M. published in the London
Gazette reads, "For continuous good work as
No. 1 of his gun team, and in particular for conspicuous gallantry, initiative
and resource on two occasions near Rafat".
