Liverpool Regiment. Awarded the Military Medal in the London Gazette of 9 December
1916. Moon was a native of Padiham, Lancashire.

MEDALS PRESENTED AT PADIHAM.
At the Grand Theatre last night, medals were publicly presented
which had been awarded to two gallant Padiham soldiers. To the widow of 13690
L/Sergeant J. Rooney, of the King's Own Scottish Borderers, who was killed in
action on 26 August 1918, and whose home was at 13, Beech Street, Padiham, were
presented with the D.C.M. and M.M. Private James Moon, of the King's Liverpool
Regiment., who lives at 20, Cobden Street, Padiham, was presented with the M.M.
Private James Moon served for four years and four months, and was demobilized
last February. He was for three years on the Salonika front, and was also in
France, and has been twice wounded. He is a native of Chorley district, and
five brothers besides himself have served in the present war, one being killed
in the battle of the Somme in June 1916.
